He is the founder of the Lutheran Church. He criticized the selling of Indulgence by
the Catholic Church and translated the Bible into German making it possible for
ordinary people to read it. Jan Huss was
one of the forerunners of the Reformation while John Calvin and Ulrich Zwingli
came after Luther.
