Well the Magna Carta limits the king's power but also grants people to the right of a trial with a jury of their peers.
I would say that "Protect all Englishmen from the king's power" is pretty close to that, because it comes closest out of all of the answers to including both of these purposes. I could be wrong but I hope that at least the first part of my answer helps.
