Social networking is the process of meeting people to share ideas, to make friends, to meet certain needs and demands. Social networking makes us overtly dependent on it for getting our work done. It undermines our self-confidence and self-esteem. The need to show off increases that can put ourselves and our close ones at risk. People who adhere to chatting on social networking sites find it hard to go without talking to their friends and folks for minutes and hours. The need to share the moments of life with the new people on these sites, or in short the strangers, can be dangerous. This can lead to the leak of confidential or private information in the public, for example, the details of credit card. There are several other disadvantages associated with social networking sites. Some cause psychological damage (exposure to age inappropriate content) and some lead to physical damage (deaths or injuries due to the selfie craze).
