here [tex]q = -0.60 /mu C[/tex]

[tex]E = 1.2 * 10^6 N/c[/tex]

magnitude of force is given by

[tex]F = 1.2 * 10^6* 0.60 * 10^{-6}[/tex]

[tex]F = 0.72 N[/tex]

Direction of force is opposite to electric field direction as it is a negative charge

so direction is towards EAST
