so if my calculations are right you use the Cost= Selling Price- Markup
which means you take the 39.17+36.43 and that equals 79.4
so then you take 155.00 (Selling Price)-79.4(Markup) and end up getting 75.6
so that means he gets 75.6$
i hope this is right and i hope it helps please correct me if my calculations are wrong in anyway
Answer:
The earning per hour is $9.87
Step-by-step explanation:
Cost = Selling Price - Markup
Markup = Selling Price - Cost
Johnson bought a used lawn mower for = $35
Amount spent on parts to repair the mower = $39.17
Amount spent on painting and polishing the mower = $36.43
So, total amount spent by him on the mower = [tex]35+39.17+36.43=110.60[/tex] dollars
Amount at which he sold the mower = $155
Profit earned = [tex]155-110.60=44.40[/tex] dollars
Since, the whole work took 4.5 hours
So, per hour earning is = [tex]\frac{44.40}{4.5}= 9.866[/tex] ≈ $9.87
