During the Enlightenment period, women began to question their roles in society which at the time were primarily domestic, such as cooking, cleaning, and raising children. This period caused them to become more active in society by becoming more aware of cultural happenings and contributing through novels in which they would voice their opinions that were once restricted by men who ruled society at the time.
The women must support the idea of the enlightenment as it would give them rights of equality and literary support.

Through the idea of the enlightenment, women started to gain the knowledge of the outer world and new intellect.
The idea of the enlightenment brings the positive change in the attitude and the value of the women in the society.
