To find the mean absolute deviation, you have to find the mean first.
1+1+2+2+2+4=12
12 divided by 6 numbers=2         The mean of that is two
Next, you have to find the amount the original numbers are away from the mean.
1= 1 away from 2               2=0 away from 2               4=2 away from 2
You should get: 1,1,0,0,0,2              Next, you have to find the mean of the new set of numbers.    1+1+0+0+0+2=4
4 divided by 6= 2/3
The mean absolute deviation is 2/3
