Water in nature exists in all the three states that are solid, liquid and gas but a state of water depends on various factors like temperature and geographical location like:

1. Water in the atmosphere exists in the form of gas or water vapour.

2. Water in well exist in the form of liquid but since the source of water in the well is ground, the water in the well is known as groundwater.

3. Water in the river exists in the form of liquid but since the river flows on the surface of the earth the water this is known as surface water.

4. Water in cold regions like arctic exists in solid form called ice.
