If a plant appears blue to us, what wavelength of light is being reflected?
A) blue
B) green
C) red
D) yellow

Respuesta :

The correct answer is: A) blue

Plants, as photosynthetic organisms have the ability to convert Sunlight energy into chemical energy. They do that thanks to light-absorbing molecules - pigments that absorb only specific wavelengths of visible light. The set of wavelengths that a pigment does not absorb are reflected, and that reflected light is what we see as color.

Because of that, plants appear green to us: pigments chlorophyll a and b  within plants reflect green light.
