Even though India has one of the highest GDP's in the world, the real picture in the country in much different. The majority of the population lives in poverty and terrible conditions. This can be easily seen in the urban areas, where apart from small parts of them, the rest is slums. The slums offer no basic conditions for living, with water not being available or is of bad quality, the sewage non existent, houses not stable, hygiene is lacking, there's no healthcare... This is especially bad for the children, as they grow up in conditions in which they can easily catch a deadly disease, will probably end up uneducated, and will not have proper opportunities in life.
