The slums offer no basic conditions for living, with water not being available or is of bad quality, the sewage non existent, houses not stable, hygiene is lacking, there's no healthcare... This is especially bad for the children, as they grow up in conditions in which they can easily catch a deadly disease, will probably end up uneducated, and will not have proper opportunities in life.
