Answer:

Fibers are not digestible. Fibers are the part of plant food which our bodies don't easily break during the process of digestion.Since the body can't digest the fibres , the fibres in the food passes to the intestine and water absorption takes place. The undigested fiber  made "bulk"so intestinal muscles can remove the waste out of the body. Fibers are also known as roughage or bulk.

Fibers are very beneficial for our health because they decrease the risk of coronary heart disease diabetes, obesity ,certain GIT disease, stroke, and hypertension. Increasing fiber intakes helps in lowering of BP & serum cholesterol levels. They are also important for our bowel movements and for our digestive system. Good sources of fibers include Barley, Oatmeal, Beans, Nuts and Fruits such as Apples,Berries, Citrus fruits, Pears, Crunchy vegetables,Nuts,Brown rice and Popcorns.
