The Unconscious is sometimes called the p[art of mind and remember by another name called as the shadow of the mind. It is the part of the mind where our hidden thought, feelings stay. Sometimes it disturbs our belief though and feeling that later on affects our daily routine activity and our behavior.  

But most of the therapy's aim is to bring out the hidden thought is conscious so the therapist can predict the disturbance pf a person. Through this process, the therapist can make predictions about the mental disorder of a person and which area of their life is being affected due to the hidden thought and feeling.
