Seven Years' War was an armed conflict of the Great Powers: Prussia, Great Britain, Hanover (later Portugal) against Austria, France, Russia, Saxony, Poland and Sweden (later Spain and the Kingdom of Both Sicilies) that started in 1756.

War was led in Europe, North America and Asia.
It broke out in 1756 as a direct consequence of the Aachen Peace (1748), which resolved neither the contentious issues between Austria and Prussia nor the relations of Great Britain and France in the colonies.
Peace in Hubertusburg (1763) Prussia retained Silesia and the county of Glatz.
The war also extended to battlefields in Asia and North America. The United Kingdom acquired Louisiana east of the Mississippi, Florida and thus became the world's leading colonial power.
