1) fifteen of 31 measurements are below 10cm and 12 measurements are above 11cm. Find the median if the other four measurements are 10.1, 10.4, 10.7 and 10.9cm.

2) median = 12 of 9 values

So 5th value is 12

To find the last measurement, use mean = 12

Mean = 12

Sum = 12×9 = 108

7+9+11+12+13+14+17+19+x = 108

102 + x = 108

x = 6
