One of which is where it is held at, in Shakespeare’s time they performed in playhouses that were typically open to the outside. Today they perform in large theaters that are closed in. They had their performances outside since they had to rely on the sun for lighting since back then they did not have artificial lighting as we do today. Another modern item that helps the actors is a microphone since it helps enhance the actors voice, but Shakespeare's actors had to rely on their own power in their voice and the structure they performed in also helped them convey their voice to the audience. The actors of the past mainly consisted of men since it was a taboo for women to perform, but now it is a common thing to have female actors. It was also an uncommon thing for women to watch the performance. One big change of theater is how the audience acted during the performances. As both now and then the crowd did applaud for the actors on a good job they did, people in modern times waited to the end of the scene, or act to reciprocate how they feel. But back then the actors interacted with the audience, they booed, cheered, and laughed during the performance. One more change is the price of the seating in the play. As then it was pricey to get the rooms above the stage, but now it is cheaper to get that than seats in the front row. And front row in the past used to only be the place where people stood during the performance.
