The transition from elementary school to middle school can be a challenge. In elementary, students are assigned to one or two primary teachers, who teach four basic courses: English, math, social studies and science. However, in middle school the same basic courses are taught, but each course has a different teacher. As a result, middle school classes are more complex because students are required to transition to different classrooms, while elementary students remain in the same class for most of the day.
