Imagine a typical day in your life. What did you do? Where did you go? What did you wear, see, eat, say, etc.

1. Create a list of all the tasks/activities you do within one day.

2. Then consider which activities are affected by the government in any way- mark them.

3. Next, circle any of those activities that you think you could go without on a daily basis. -What implications would you have for not completing those tasks?

Example: Brushing your teeth: Toothbrush and Toothpaste is FDA approved, Water is regulated by local government. Going without brushing your teeth can have negative effects on your health.

TURN IN: Write one to two paragraphs summarizing your findings (I do not need your list). Answer this questions: how does the government affect your life? What did you discover when removing some of those activities?

Answer:

Keep in mind each example of government institutions.

Explanation:

In the morning I wake up and turn on the lights, look at my phone, and use the bathroom; energy and electricity is part of the Enviornmental Protection Agency. Then I drive the bus funded by our county, then by the Federal Ministry of Transportation. Then I go to the supermarket to buy FDA approved products such as multivitamins. Lastly, I watch television at night, which is censored and controlled by the FCC. I could go without going to the supermarket but then my family would go hungry. I see how important the government is in our daily lives, especially how it surveils what we consume even when we don't think it could.
