(due today!), please tell me in two or three sentences below where the phrase "Come and Take It!" comes from? What does it mean and why do we see this Texan challenge even on bumper stickers today?

Answer:  "Come and take it" is a historic slogan, first used in 480 BC."Come and take it!" The dare referred to a small brass cannon, but it became a declaration of Texas' independence and grit as famous as "Remember the Alamo." Today, you can see a twist of the historic slogan. Hope this helps :)
