Glucose = C₆H₁₂O₆.
Atomic mass of C = 12 u
Atomic mass of H = 1 u
Atomic mass of O = 16 u
Therefore, the molecular mass of glucose
= (6 × Atomic mass of C) + (12 × Atomic mass of H) + (6 × Atomic mass of O)
= (6 × 12) + (12 × 1) + (6 × 16) u
= 72 + 12 + 96 u
= 180 u
Answer
