Sebastian and Antonio reject Gonzalo's idea, which is directly linked to Alonso. Prospero's magic is challenged by Caliban and Ariel, which shows that this magic is not that dangerous.

How is foreshadowing used?

  • Gonzalo states that there should be no succession or any other kind of transmission of power.
  • This would encourage Alonso's control.
  • Antonio and Sebastian disagree with Gonzalo.

Regarding Prospero's Magic, we can say that it is seen as something very dangerous and terrible. However, when Caliban becomes too violent and threatens this magic, we can see that the sense of danger is diminished, especially when Prospero can't dominate Caliban and needs Ariel to do so.
