In my opinion, the demise of the communist party within the Soviet Union was a result of Gorbachev and a certain European coup. The most important factor because Gorbachev was a reasonable man willing to comply with the United Nations and America. Then there's the coup and this is very important because this failed coup de ta resulted in the immediate collapse of the communist party within the Soviet Union. After the movement known as detente, the berlin wall came down after a presidential speech given by Ronald Reagan. As a result of all of these factors, the USSR dissolved its communist beliefs and withdrew from conflict with the united states.
