the spanish explorers would treat natives as heathens, while the english, french and dutch were generally on friendly terms with them.

All of these groups the English, French and Dutch interacted with the Native Americans.
They all sought wealth.
They all settled in some part of the New World.
When the Spanish came in they were very harsh and cruel to the Native Americans, they did not treat them with dignity and began to conquer and rule over them.
