What were the benefits and drawbacks of having a railroad run through your city in the 1800s?
This is what I have so far.
Benefits:
Faster transportation of goods
Shorter trips
More connections
Better business
Commercial traffic
GDP
Drawbacks:
Pollution
Immigrants who built them died from labor
Safety Issues- sickness could spread easier
the town would often have to physically rearrange businesses.
for drawbacks you could add more accidents (people getting hit or falling off trains), more bandits, homes would have to be built elsewhere. Just my opinions :)
