Informal discussions tend to take a life of their own and require little planning. However, when a discussion is formally organized in order to deal with a particular topic, it can be useful to prepare beforehand with a discussion plan. Having a discussion plan will allow you to make sure that all the necessary topics are covered. It will also allow the group to stay on track and be more productive when it comes to reaching a positive outcome.
