The Gupta Empire was existing around 3rd century CE to 590 CE in ancient India. The social structure of the empire was influenced by Hinduism. Hinduism classified the society into 4 social classes (Varnas) where Gupta classified it into five classes in following order
1.Scholars and priests. 2. Kings and warriors. 3. Merchants. 4. Farmers and service providers. 5. Untouchables.
