The answer to your question would be both sentences are related because they are expressed in the passive voice.

In most English sentences with an action verb, the subject performs the action denoted by the verb. Because the subject acts upon the verb, the sentence is said to be in the active voice. Yet, you can change the order of the sentence so that the subject is no longer active but being acted upon by the verb. In this case, the sentence is said to be passive since the subject is being acted upon or passive. That is what happens in the examples.
