After the foot leaves the ball, the acceleration is always downward and is equal to g at all points

There's not enough information to calculate the acceleration of the ball WHILE it's in contact with the kicker's foot. But once it leaves the toe of the kicker, and until it hits the ground, its acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2 downward, because of gravity.
