The right option is; graft the scion onto a good root stock
If you had a fruit tree that bore little fruit, you might try to graft the scion onto a good root stock to produce a new plant that will bear more fruit.
This method is known as grafting. It is a vegetative method of propagation that is done to produce a new plant with desired characteristics from another plant (the rootstock). In this method, the scion (the upper section) of a plant is grown on the rootstock (root system) of another plant. A new plant that has similar characteristics (such as drought tolerance, high production of fruits) like the good plant (root stock) will grow from the scion.
