If it there are two negative #'s you add them because they are on the same side of the number line.
Answer with explanation:
⇒When there are two Negative Integers or two Positive Integers, we add them, because, two integers has same sign behind it, it means those two things which are represented through numbers, are moving in same direction. So,Instead of subtracting ,we add them and place the same sign behind the result, means, if two integers has positive sign preceding it, then positive sign precedes the result, otherwise if two integers has negative sign behind it, negative sign precedes the result.
⇒And , if there is one positive and one negative integer, we subtract larger from smaller ,and place that sign that larger integer has, preceding the result.Because when two integers has opposite sign, it means they are moving in opposite direction.
