Ron is tiling a countertop. He needs to place 54 square tiles in each of 8 rows to cover the counter. He wants to randomly place 8 groups of 4 blue tiles each and have the rest of the tiles be white. How many white tiles will Ron need?

The total number of tiles required to cover the countertop is 8 rows x 54 per row, i.e 432. Now, out of which, 8 groups of 4 blue tiles each need to be fixed and remaining to be of white colour tiles. So, total blue coloured tiles are: 8 x4 = 32. Thus, white tiles Ron will need is 432-32 = 400 tiles
