In a certain company, 30 percent of the men and 20 percent of the women attend night school. if 40 percent of all employees are men, what percent of all the employees attend night school?

Let x be total employees

x= total employees
(40%) 0.4x (of all employees are men), then;
(60%) 0.6x (of all employees are women)

night school attendees;
0.3 (0.4x) = 0.12x men
0.2 (0.6x) = 0.12x women

Total in night school 0.12 + 0.12 = 0.24x
Result = 24 % of all employees attend night school
