93,000 miles = 149,668,992 000 meters - distance from sun to earth 
149,668,992,000/300000000 = 498.9 seconds - time for light from sun to reach earth 
498.9 seconds/60 seconds per minute = 8.3 minutes - time for light from sun to reach earth 

So the answer is approximately 8 minutes.
