The answer to this item is determined by adding the number of Oregon State quarters minted in both Philadelphia and Denver. To be able to do so, we expressed one of the scientific notation the same as the other. We may expressed 4.04 x 10^8 as 40.4 x 10^7. Adding up the values,

    n = (40.4 x 10^7) + (7.12 x 10^7)
