If Kendrell was cutting 12 feet piece of wood into 1/4 pieces. Then he cut 48 peices.
As per the problem
Kendrell was cutting 12 feet piece of wood into 1/4 feet pieces .
We are supposed to find How many pieces did he cut?
As each piece is of 1/4 feet , and in 1 feet we have 4 pieces, each of [tex] \frac{1}{4} [/tex] feet because
[tex] 1 feet=\frac{1}{4}feet+ \frac{1}{4}feet+ \frac{1}{4}feet+ \frac{1}{4}feet[/tex]
Hence in 12 feet, there will be [tex] 12*4=48 [/tex] pieces each of [tex] \frac{1}{4} feet [/tex] long.
Hence he cut 48 pieces.
