Answer: [tex]-\Delta H and +\Delta S[/tex] will favor a spontaneous change
Explanation:
For a spontaneous reaction, [tex]\Delta G[/tex] (Change in gibbs free enegy) should be negative.
We know, [tex]\Delta G=\Delta H-T\Delta S[/tex]
where [tex]\Delta H[/tex] is change in enthalpy for reaction, T is temperature in kelvin scale and [tex]\Delta S[/tex] is change in entropy for reaction.
T is always positive. Therefore , to make [tex]\Delta G[/tex] negative, [tex]\Delta H[/tex] should be negative and/or [tex]\Delta S[/tex] should be positive
Hence [tex]-\Delta H and +\Delta S[/tex] will favor a spontaneous change.
