Kendra had a beaded necklace business. She can make 12 necklaces in 2 hours. How long will it take her to make 9 necklaces?

It will take Kendra 1 1/2 hours to make 9 necklaces.


Since she can make 12 necklaces in 2 hours we know she makes 6 in 1 hour.

1 hr = 6 necklaces 
1/2 hr = 3 necklaces 


1 1/2 hrs. = 9 necklaces
