First way
Let's divide.
2÷9= 2/9
Each person would get 2/9 of a gallon if they shared it.

I believe it would be easier to convert this into cups. There are 16 cups per gallon.
16×2= 32
Let's divide that by 9.
32÷9= 3 5/9 cups per person.
