Because of his talents, his intelligence and his disposition, Benjamin Franklin was destined to represent the best the United States had to offer. That became evident in the numerous public offices that he held.

Franklin served his fellow colonists from before the French and Indian War by writing political tracts, serving in local office, representing Pennsylvania in England and finally acting as a representative of the American colonies.
