Fossil Evidence. Fossils are essentially evidence that have been left behind by various forms of living things. They are essential tools that can be used for the understanding the diverse groups of organisms that have inhabited our planet at one time or another. A fossil is any preservedevidence of an organism.
Fossil evidence suggests that these the animals can be classified in the same phylum, Chordata, but in three different classes. And there are different classification such as;
1.)Molds fossil are fossil such skin , embryo, teeth.they are made in the substrate(Sediments) as imprint and hollow in shape.
2.)Traces fossils includes dung tooth mark. They are class of fossil that have information about the traced left by the organism.it does not give details about the main organism.
3.)True Form fossils are fossils such as; heads,limbs.it is formed when the body of the Organism is been changed to minerals in the process of petrification.
