According to the properties of shifting units, the way to shift units to the side is to add or subtract where x is-
to shift "a" units to the left:-
y = ( x+a )
to shift "a" units to the right:-
y = ( x-a )
to shift the function along the y-axis, we add or subtract the number of units to the complete function-
to shift "b" units up:-
y = (x) + b
to shift "b" units down:-
y = (x) - b
Hence, the equation for the transformation asked is :-
y = |x + 2| - 3
